We're continuing to hear from our Board Members about what they enjoy most about being a member for Board Appreciation Month! Today we spoke with Carla Clodfelter. "I love being a board member because I love Lawton Public Schools. My husband and I both attended LPS, as well as my grandparents, father, children and now the 5th generation of my family attend Pat Henry Elementary. I feel the most important thing I can do for the future of LPS is to serve on the board and help guide the way to a better future for all children as well as my own. The growth LPS has made in the 7 years I've been a board member has been inspiring. We have passed a $99.5 million dollar bond, built a multimillion dollar middle school (EMS), remodeled Douglas Elementary School and dedicated it to Mr. Albert Johnson, Sr a former teacher and mentor at LPS for nearly 70 years. The list goes on and on. The future of LPS is limitless, I'm going to sit back and watch with pride as we continue to grow and thrive." We are thankful for the dedication our Board Members show for our district! Be on the lookout as we hear from our newest Board Member, Elizabeth Fabrega. #LawtonPS #WeAreLPS #oklaed

It's Board Appreciation Month and we took the the time to talk with Board President Mary Bradley about her favorite part about being a member. "I love supporting students and staff. The School Board meet's needs by funding schools and programs. We support the Arts and Athletics and the many other areas and want students to dream and seek after those dreams. We support students by creating an environment that is safe and encourages learning. Staff support comes by acknowledging their accomplishments and rewarding their hard work with stipends. I love school and hope it is a wonderful place for both students and staff. It is my pleasure to serve on the LPS School Board. " We appreciate all the things our board members do for our district!
