Students at Almor West Elementary School enjoyed a Paint with the Principal event. Students could choose to paint a Christmas tree or a Grinch hand. Principal Ellen Driskill, in a Santa hat, oversaw the project. #WeAreLPS #LawtonPS #oklaed

Crews from Southern Bleacher Co. begin installing bleachers on the east side of the Lawton High School football field on Tuesday. The bleachers, which will seat 750 people and include a press box, will be primarily for fans of visiting schools when LHS hosts football games. The project was delayed until fiber lines were moved. #WeAreLPS #LawtonPS #oklaed

Crews from Southern Lifting and Hoist, Oklahoma City, prepare to lift the third wall into place Monday morning on the new gymnasium/safe room at Ridgecrest Elementary School. Each panel weighs about 60,000 pounds and is lifted by a 550-ton crane. All of the walls should be in place before Thanksgiving. #WeAreLPS #LawtonPS #oklaed

The three fifth grade classes at Woodland Hills Elementary School donated 25 Thanksgiving food baskets to the Veterans Service Center on Nov. 19. Each basket also included a $10 gift card so recipients can buy perishable food items. The Veterans Service Center will add turkey and ham to the baskets, which will be given to veterans, active duty service members and community members. #WeAreLPS #LawtonPS #oklaed

Congratulations to Alonzo Simpson and Claire Trachte on receiving the Superintendent Award of Excellence Coins. Alonzo recently won the title of the 2026 Oklahoma Association for Student Council’s State President for the first time in Lawton High & LPS history. Claire Trachte set a new school record at the 6A State Cross Country meet in the 5k running a 19:46.77!!
